We're recruiting freelance Lead and Assistant Ukulele Tutors for adult group courses in pub venues across London. We're particularly interested in charismatic performers, musicians, actors, and singer-songwriters who can play the ukulele or guitar.

We teach adult group ukulele lessons in London pubs, from complete beginners through to advanced players.

Lessons take place in pub venues across London on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings, from 7–9pm. We’re looking for tutors who can commit to at least one evening per week for a full 10-week course.

Our next courses begin the week commencing 28 September 2026, with training from the week commencing 21 September, depending on the role.

From contemporary favourites to classics, we embrace all genres of music: R&B, Soul, Afrobeat, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Rock, Indie and more.

The social side of SOU is just as important as the music, so we're looking for people who genuinely enjoy meeting people, bringing a group together and creating a fun atmosphere.

We're not conventional instrument tuition. We exclusively teach in pubs for a reason. They're relaxed, social spaces where people can learn, play music, have a drink and get to know each other. The experience of being in the room matters just as much as what's on the songsheet.

We offer competitive freelance rates, with opportunities to develop your role and take on additional teaching as part of School of Uke. It’s a chance to earn through your musicianship, meet brilliant people and become part of something genuinely social, creative and distinctive.

You’ll be supported with training, ready-made song sheets, music theory resources and the practical systems needed to run your lessons well. 

Tutors may also have the opportunity to join our one-to-one teaching programme, with a dedicated School of Uke profile and promotional support through our group courses and marketing campaigns.

We provide a simple booking system synced with your Google Calendar, dedicated folders for your students and discounted lesson packs designed to encourage regular bookings. We look after all the customer care and admin, leaving you free to teach.

And best of all, there are opportunities to get involved in showcases, parties, jams and other School of Uke events. You’ll be part of a team of musicians, learning from one another and developing the skills to play, teach and perform across a wide range of genres and ability levels.
