What to expect?
"A lesson with me is about embracing and trusting the process of learning. I'll cheer you up in frustrating times and celebrate you when you succeed. Every step counts!"
Styles & Genres
I love to teach strumming and rhythm techniques, especially for beginners who sometimes struggle with initial strumming patterns. As a singer/songwriter, I can also provide support with singing while playing the ukulele.
My favourite genres are jazz, blues, hip hop, rock and roll, soul and funk. My heart is stuck in the oldies, from the '50s to the early '00s.
Favourite Songs to Teach
Sh-boom - The Chords
Hit the road Jack - Ray Charles
Just the two of us - Bill Withers
Three Little Birds - Bob Marley
Singing In The Rain - Gene Kelly
Bio
Hi, I'm Francesca and I'm forging my music career in London as a singer/songwriter. I grew up in a small town in Calabria in Italy, and I moved to London in 2020 to pursue my passion for music.
I’m predominantly a singer, and I started singing when I was very young. Encouraged by mother and sisters who also sang, my childhood home was always filled with songs and laughter. I sang obsessively every day for hours and hours, so music has always been in my blood.
It wasn’t until 2020 that I bought my first ukulele, and I haven’t been able to put it down since. It’s my companion, my safe place, my therapist and my guiding light! It fills my life with positivity and aside from singing, I never felt so passionate about anything before.
So music is my life, and I’m loving it. I currently perform as a singer with ukulele in a variety of music and jazz venues in London including The Blues Kitchen. When I’m not performing I love to share my passion through teaching both group based lessons and individuals with the School of Uke.
I especially love to teach complete beginners and children, and to experience that special feeling that comes with learning to play the ukulele and overcoming new challenges.
